Reaching out for help – for yourself or someone you care about – shouldn’t be hard. You have lots of options, you just might not know about them. This list of services will put you in touch with professionals who can help with any mental health concern or questions you might have.

Be Safe app – Developed BY teens FOR teens, this mobile app helps teens find the support they need, and takes them through the process of reaching out to a professional. The app is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play (download with your parent’s permission), or visit besafeapp.ca to learn more.

Kids Help Phone – Talk, text, or chat with a trained professional 24/7. Visit kidshelpphone.ca for more info, call 1-800-668-6868, or text CONNECT to 686868 

Windsor-Essex Community Health Center -  WECHC offers free counselling for teens on a variety of topics including substance abuse, primary care, eating disorder support, and addiction support. Visit wechc.org  for more information, or call to book an appointment 519-253-8481.

Regional Children’s Centre – The RCC offers a variety of programs for teens and their family members. They have open walk-in clinics Monday to Thursday 12:00 pm – 8:00pm, and Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm. Call 519-257-5111 or visit hdgh.org/rccservices for more information.

In-School Support - If you’re a student at a secondary school in Windsor and Essex County, you can reach out to your school’s guidance department for support. For secondary students attending a school within the Greater Essex County District School Board, you can contact your school’s Mental Health and Addictions Nurse.
