Addiction Assessment & Referral
Description
The Addiction Assessment & Referral Program is a community-based agency servicing Windsor-Essex County for individuals ages 16+ who are concerned or experiencing problems and/or negative consequences related to substance use. This service acts as an entry point into the Ontario Ministry of Health's treatment system. The service is staffed with social workers who are skilled in the use of the Global Appraisal of Individuals Needs (GAIN) Assessment Tool. Stage 1 will include a screening stage that will help determine what kinds of needs the individual may have. Stage 2 will include an assessment where clients will be asked questions regarding their substance use, mental health, and activities of daily living. Stage 3 includes the development of a treatment plan.
