Essex-County Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRRT)
Description
The Essex County M.C.R.R.T. is a team that consists of two dedicated crisis intervention trained OPP officers and two dedicated crisis intervention training social workers/crisis workers. The M.C.R.R.T. are first responders to emergency mental health-related calls in Essex County (Lakeshore, Tecumseh, Essex, Kingsville, and Leamington, for those over the age of 16. The team will help de-escalate crisis situations, provide immediate mental health needs and risk assessments, and will assist in connecting individuals with appropriate services. The team is an enhancement to the current Mental Health Response Unit. Follow-up of the initial crisis will be provided by either the Essex or Leamington Mental Health Response Unit.
